Ambassador of Bangladesh to China called on Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of CPC (IDCPC)

Mr. Md. Nazmul Islam, Ambassador of Bangladesh to China, met Mr. Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of CPC (IDCPC), in Beijing today. The meeting was held at the headquarters of the International Department of the Communist Party of China.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed a wide range of bilateral issues, including high-level exchanges, enhanced contacts, economic and development cooperation and other areas of mutual interest. They also exchanged views on strengthening collaboration under the Belt and Road Initiative, expanding trade and investment and promoting people-to-people exchanges.
Ambassador Islam briefed the Minister on the recently held national election in Bangladesh and the priorities of the new government. Both sides recalled the longstanding friendship between Bangladesh and China and noted that the two countries celebrated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations last year.
The discussions also covered Bangladesh’s candidature for the Presidency of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly and cooperation in multilateral forums. Both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing high-level exchanges and expanding practical cooperation across various sectors. They also expressed confidence that the new government in Bangladesh and China’s upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan would create further opportunities to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership between the two countries.
