Power of Attorney

Power of Attorney (POA) is a document that allows the applicant staying abroad to appoint a person or organization to manage his/her affairs in Bangladesh. Power of Attorney is processed in accordance with ‘The Power of Attorney Act-2015’. The POA executants and receivers are requested to read the ‘Power of Attorney Act-2015’ before initiating the process. The applicants are requested to follow the format for doing Power of Attorney before submitting the complete application to the mission.


Requirements for attestation of Power of Attorney Application:


  • Executant/s document:
  • Duly filled-in and signed application form; (in case of more than one executant, only the first executant should fill-in and sign the application);
  1. Executant(s) valid/ expired Bangladeshi passport/ NVR/ Bangladesh NID/ Bangladesh Birth Registration Certificate/ Education Certificate issued from Bangladesh/ any legal document by which Bangladeshi nationality can be identified;
  2. 02 (two) copies of recent passport size photograph (colour photo with white background) for each of the executant(s);
  3. In case of Land Property related POA, copy of updated tax receipt (Dakhila) of respective land and update Record of Rights (Khatian/Porcha);
  4. Land Registration Certificate (জমির দলিল);
  5. Succession certificate (attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka, Bangladesh) where applicable;
  6. Any relevant Bangladeshi document (s) [attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka, Bangladesh]

2. Recipient/s document:

  • Copy of Bangladeshi National ID card (NID) / Valid Bangladeshi Passport.
  • 02 (two) copies of recent passport size photograph (colour photo with white background);


3. A complete filled in Application form

4. Power of Attorney document: Power of attorney should be made on government non-judicial form with stamps. While preparing the Power of Attorney document please concern that all of the information/s of the executant/s and recipient/s which are written in the document are needed to be according to the submitted document/s (Name, parent’s name, Date of Birth, address, document number etc). The document must remain unsigned.

6. Receipt of Payment for POA


7. Fee:

Regular fee: 165 RMB (Delivery on the 4th working days)
Urgent fee: 220 RMB (Delivery on the 2nd working day)
